Find Your Kid’s Size
To find the best fit for your kid’s glasses, start by checking the frame width.
A frame that is slightly wider than your child’s face is usually a good place to start. As a simple rule, there should be no more than about one finger’s width between the temple and your child’s face.
If your child already has a pair of glasses that fits well, measure from screw to screw across the front of the frame. This gives you a helpful idea of the frame width to look for.
Other Useful Measurements
You may also see several numbers printed on the temple arm of your child’s glasses. These numbers show the main frame measurements.
From left to right, the numbers tell you the:
- Lens width - 49
- Bridge width - 22
- Temple length - 150
Sometimes a fourth number is also shown on the arm. This is the lens height. Keep in mind that all these measurements are in millimeters.
